Bell peppers are known as “Atsal” in Visayan dialect. Most of the vegetable supply in Davao City is from Kapatagan, Davao del Sur. A remote vegetable-producing town at the foot of Mt. Apo.
In the past months, i’m into “book hunting” at booksale stores from davao city down to koronadal and general santos city. what am i hunting: photography books, particularly Time Life books. These are pretty rare books these days as some of these are already out of print. Although some are still available in commercial bookstores, but I can’t afford them. So i’d rather hunt them at the booksale stores.
Last December 30, I bought five hard bound books at booksale stall in KCC Mall of GenSan for for just P450.00 only! No regrets, you may say it’s still pretty expensive but for a photography book, it’s not bad !

One of the rare books i got :”The Family of Man” for just P40.00. It’s really a great, great photo book given that it is the all time greatest photographic exhibition – 503 photographs from 68 countries. I also got a photo essay book by National Geographic called “Where Valor Rests.”

Whew, look what’s happening in Cagayan De Oro City. I remember the days in 2001 and 2002 when I was assigned by Cyberdyaryo to do a story on the anti-illegal logging campaign of Task Force Macajalar in CDO. They put up a barricade near Xavier’s College of Agriculture and also near the location SM now.
I also recalled the denial of the DENR official of Region 10 that there was an illegal logging activities in his region. I was then a greenhorn reporter who set an interview to that official and ended up being scolded while denying that there were illegal logging activities in his region.
So, look at CDO now, it’s like a waterworld.
