November 27, I joined the group of typhoon survivors from New Bataan in Compostela Valley province in what they call a “spiritual journey” to the typhoon-ravaged areas in Leyte.
The group chose Biliran town in Island Province of Biliran because it is the hometown of Capt. Oscar Corpin, chief of the 66th IB’s CMO unit. Corpin led his men in the rescue and relief efforts when typhoon Pablo hit New Bataan on December 4, 2012.
Fr. Edgar Tuling, parish priest of New Bataan, said the trip to Leyte is also in “solidarity” with the survivors. Read the story
